this last playback onsite video is (in my opinion) one of the best i ever had. if you're particular with the color quality and you've got an eye on cinematography, then i bet you're gonna like this. plus you'll get to see totally hotninang christine jacob singing with passion...yeah, like it was bulagaan all over again. :)

although the song may never be in my ipod playlist, the video still turned out to be great! see it for yourself.

there are these stories that are just truly unbelievable. it was during the seventies when kei and david firt hooked up, nothing serious, barely even friends, lucky to be called acquaintance...then, years passed...he was on the oher side of the world, she was in front of her computer then bam! friendster happened. the stories about "remember when" and "remember who" began and before they knew it, they're married!

...another part of this cool job i enjoy...that's how close i get with my clients (who become my friends along the way) during the biggest day of their lives. enjoy, as we did, david and kei's onsite video.

a lot of my friends from dlsu were there but the time to share stories was not enought. it never is. it was the wedding day of my good buddy back in college. for the first time in two years, i got the change to cover a wedding of a friend and it was a long time coming...and the guessing game of "who's it gonna be?" is finally answered...engrs. ray and oda. :)

i was originally going for a barbie almabis but i had to change it an hour before the ceremony to a kitchie nadal because i felt the clips are gonna look better with the latter's song. plus, she's hotter too! :) either way, you gotta agree, opm rules. :)

my man erwin got me this clip i find really cool. it's right before the flower shower. it's a first person fish eye view of what's going on outside the church in 360 degrees. nice.

i was getting tired of seeing my friendster friends's "newly uploaded" photos in their wedding gown/tux and then asking myself "when the heck did she/he got married? and where the hell was i?"...now, i'm finally in one, a beautiful one may i add, and i got the onsite video to prove it. yeah!...and by the way, the new blog ain't up yet so don't bother checking it. (you'll know what i mean after you watch the video.)

my "happy new year" blog post is almost a month, erm, delayed. no, no, i'm not as busy as some may think, i wish i was though, but either way i've got a lot of stuff to be thankful for...i don't even know where to begin.

2007 blew me away. i gained a lot of new friends and i learned a lot. here's the list of stuff i'm very grateful for:

1. God and all the blessings that He has given me.
2. my family. the support they have given me from day 0 until right this moment is overwhelming.
3. my video team, the unsung heroes. edward and erwin, my main men, they make my life in the editing room easier. the bond and friendship that we have created makes this job, whether we eat something during the wedding day or not, way lot cooler.
4. my clients who've become my friends along the way. thank you for trusting us and believing in us. it is an honor for us to be a part of the most special day of your lives.
5. to the weddings at work community. amazing! there is no doubt that this community has been a huge part of our (and i'm sure a lot of other suppliers from photo/video to invitations and giveaways) success.
6. my photographer friends. i have a lot now and i always look forward to working with them. :)
7. jason magbanua. the one one who opened the doors. i haven't met him personally but i look forward to shaking his hand and thanking him for the wonderful opportunity that he has given to people like me. his work continues to inspire me.
8. and of course, my fiancee. the one who'll pay half of my own wedding's expenses; :) the one who pushes me to be at my best; the one who listens to me, makes me laugh, dances funny, eats "my" whole bag of snickers (with almonds), plans our hard earned summer vacations (and uses my credit card to buy tickets)...and a lot more other stuff that will surely fill this whole blog up. :) my love and my life...there i said it!!!

here's another list that i'm kinda hoping a lot of people are gonna read 'coz it's really important:
1. the promo is almost up. we'll be adjusting our prices by mid march.
2. my new blog will also be up by mid march.
3. we have set goals and raised our standards for this year. though our little company targets to expand in the future, at the moment we are limited to a number of weddings per month (this includes decembers and januarys). this is to maintain the quality and to avoid long turnover of the final video.
4. we do have plans to join a bridal fair this year, nothing specific yet but if we get lucky, we'll be at two. :)

that's it then, happy new year and we hope that you continue to visit our blog even after your wedding day. ;)

the first time i met hou and merry joy was on their wedding day...and after that night, sadly, i'm not gonna be seeing them again. they're back in malaysia for their third wedding (the first was in singapore.) all i can wish them is more weddings in more countries and hopefully, their marrying each other every time. :)

i finally had the pleasure to meet randall dagooc of mango red. wow! i just couldn't get over it, and ryan ain't even there yet. mango red , baby, mango red!!! they were redefining the word non-traditional right in front of me. they make dirt, trash bags, rust and other germ infested garbage worthy of existence.

two more videos before christmas. up first, mr. and mrs. hernandez's 'long distance' love story.

this couple is really something. see, they shot their own clips, photographed themselves, interviewed themselves, even wrote their own story board (with drawings and stuff) and when i got everything, i had nothing else left to do. i'm not really sure if i deserve some credit from this one. :)

let's see...hmmm...enough time to transfer to four different rooms for the bride's preps; enough time to wait for kix's and ging's pictorial at baywalk; enough time to re-edit a rendered video to add clips of the first dance...how fast can i edit, you ask? well, watch this video and see for yourself...'coz i just watched it one last time before uploading it and i asked myself, 'man, did i just do that?'

it's widescreen, it's eclectic, it'll blow you away and you're gonna have to, want to, need to watch it again. i know i do. :) ok, enough bragging for me, i hate it but i can't help it. my fiancee/blog editor will surely frown once she reads this one. :)

daan-daang larawan ang nagdaraan sa aking paningin, daan-daang nakaraan ibinabalik ng simoy ng hangin... darn it, it's been a couple of weeks now but this rivermaya song is still the song i'm singing while showering. i love alternative opm, i mean opm in general. i was delighted when ice actually requested a tagalog song to be used in her avp.

i'm warning you - you'll watch this video, you'll remember high school (or college) where you tried to form your own band with a couple of guitar playing friends, maybe smirk a little... and then you'll try singing like bamboo for a week or so.

dave and ebeth booked us on a bridal fair and from then on it was all dave (grooms today sure know what they want). he'll contact me for our multiple meetings, send me text messages for updates, call me for a little chat but he won't drop by our office at ten in the evening 'coz, well, let's just say he heard some belete drive stories. :)

reliable sources say that this couple had prenup pictorials in singapore, another in laguna with asteeg photog jayson arquiza and a couple of dozens with playback.

here's the story that led to one magical night of free starbucks coffee and unlimited tequila shots. :)

a couple of weeks ago, it's just another five star hotel...then, trillanes shows up and suddenly, it's the 47th question on my future 4th grader's history exams. i was actually looking for some bullet holes but i was disappointed. little did i know that the war begins as soon as i step into the prep room.

i literally got kicked, verbally abused and tissues (in packs) where thrown at me by no other than ebeth herself. for every comment i had, the perky bride's got five. here's where the she-hulk gets her energy.

but once cecilio abad's gown was on, ebeth suddenly realized that it was her wedding day and it was the most peaceful thirty seconds of the day (how i cherish that moment). :)

at the end of the night i remember asking dave if he's happy and he answered"oo naman!". of course he is, i know he is, he just got married to one beautiful woman! i mean that, with all my heart...and fingers crossed (got you again, mrs. cenido).

another beach wedding, our third for the year!!! man, the stiff neck from that long drive is still bothering me, but i'll live. :) had the pleasure of working with kenneth uy and ems van goth.

the bride gave a new meaning to the term 'non-traditional' (even her name is spelled differently). check out her champagne colored bridal gown and her bridesmaids' dresses and soon you're gonna get yourself murmuring to yourself -- cool!

here's a hundred percent pinoy groom; some percent chinese bride (since her last name ---soon to be maiden name--- is 'uy', i'm assuming); wearing japanese school girl/boy inspired costumes; a korean themed video; mix 'em together and what do you get? ...'asian-novela!' is the word. playback comics is back baby, manga style!!!

kidding aside, i always thought of thet as the best thing that ever happened to us. she's actually the first w@w bride who signed up for our services. i remember during that time, we only had 2 weddings, no website/blog and a couple of crappy samples. how she heard about us, i don't know; why she chose us, i have no idea. one thing's certain, she's the one bride that saw us coming even before we started our engines.

forget my wedding of the year, russell and thet's wedding is coming up and perhaps, should i not get wed, december 22, 2007 is the wedding of my life. save the date! :) (ignore all the sentimental b.s. trust me, it sounds way lot cooler and a little less girlie than it reads.)

i had my first experience of doing the onsite video in two consecutive days...and since it's gonna take a little while until the next same day edit/my next post, well,i kinda delayed uploading these videos a bit...also to let the previous videos sink in a little. :)

this avp's one's one of a kind. i remember celine asking me to come up with something different...so...we sat down for a meeting, scribbled some ideas, talked about martin nievera songs, exchanged non-avp related stories of our lives, and then we came up with a script. the actual shooting ain't as easy as we thought it would be but it was fun nonetheless.

inspired by the movie down with love (i had to see it for research), watch this video and see how danz and celine wait for ultimate "date" of their lives.

remember rob thomas? the voice behind hit songs 'push', 'unwell', 'bent'? last i heard, he's doing some solo act and he's got this new song you just might want to add into your ipod. as for me, i got nothing else to do but make an onsite video out of it. :)

going back to don bosco batulao where we held our high school retreat brought back some good memories. i saw no major changes though, except of course the chapel and the cool name that it has now.

the film look, the time lapse, the first kiss, my money shot (when i caught celine inside her bridal car praying) and all the clips in between; this video goes into my 'favorite wedding videos' list. see for yourself.

i'm not sure what year it was, but i'm pretty sure that batman/superman/spiderman costumes are already available that time. by some kinda freak of nature thing, red chose, well, i dunno, i'm guessing the lone ranger? i'm still not sure...it's either that or the infamous pinoy action hero weng weng in disguise. i heard that during the 70s (is it?), weng weng was so big that every little kid back then wanna be like him...just trying to make you smile dr. red.

it took me two weeks. the longest and most agonizing weeks of my short video editing career. this one's something i haven't done nor tried before. i just saw one and told myself hey, i can do that. (though i told dr. ann on our last meeting that i've done one already...she'll never know i lied.) it wasn't as easy as i thought. still, i enjoyed doing it. i didn't know that they've been together for an astonishing ten years. did you just say wow!? i did too. here's another playback first, you guys, and if by any chance you think it's good, well...we've only just begun.

i saw an onsite video almost a year ago from the pinoy master videomaker himself and it blew me away. it changed my life. i knew i gotta get me one of that. i wanted it so bad that every time i was given the green light to choose the song to use for an onsite, it's the first song that pops out of my head.

i love this couple, ann actually sent me a text message to choose from a couple of songs that she likes to be used and told me that it's up to me which one. to my surprise, she gave me the top 2 songs on my top 2 list! from the kind of songs they've been giving me, sometimes i think that they may be the ones who found the ipod that i lost a long time ago (still hurting from that one.)

on the day, i'm still undecided. should i go fast or should i go furious. one things for sure, while i was doing it, the tension was so bad i wanted to cry just to release it. i went a hundred and forty clips per minute, almost as fast as my last speeding ticket. i was thinking that i may have bitten off more than i could chew; that i wouldn't pull it off. ann's last text message "we trust you guys naman eh..." started echoing in my head. but what do you know, i survived. huh! i was exhausted though, physically and mentally. this song, ain't in my list anymore, not even on my top 100. check out the glidecam's onsite debut. enjoy the video as i enjoyed my well deserved vanilla ice cream in fresh milk.

yesterday, after a year of absence, the green archers won their 7th men's basketball title. who would've thought, huh? i did. i knew that if there was a team that could beat the red warriors, it's the archers. after game one's victory, i knew the series was over. the other side's gotta be hurting real bad. the long drought continues for them and i doubt if the warriors can get into the finals next year. what's worse is that their gonna go to class today with long faces and, as that poor-acting-don't-show-it-again-and-on-your-way-flush-it-down-the-toilet- please uaap commercial portrays, they're gonna be having a pop quiz or two.

after they pulled that 14-0 feat, i was an instant marcy arellano fan. there was even a small voice inside my head saying it's okay if they get the trophy this time. honestly, i feel bad for ue 'coz next year's gonna be a lot tougher. lasalle's gonna have this yugoslavian kid back; simon atkins, this kid's got game, watch our for him; rico meirhoffer-whatever may have an mvp-ish season next year and i'm just talking about lasalle. i mean ateneo will come back strong, they always do; ust's got gervie cruz, this year's mvp; feu's young and very talented; the bulldogs, the falcons, the maroons gotta get some ekwe-like (foreigner center from ncaa champ san beda) imports...errr....players...to...you know, win.

enough about yesterdays news and more on the new video. the song is a 60's classic and if you try to limewire it, you may get a dozen of different versions from a dozen different artist. got it from one of my favorite american television series "weeds." mary-louise parker - hot! it was shot at "the metropolitan's" sample skyloft (yep, even the name they call their condo unit sounds real cool). gotta get me one of those, it's just that even in my dreams, i can't afford it. watch out for junnie and jamie's avp, chester's got some crazy stuff goin' on, it's coming soon. october 27, 2007 - save the date!

an hour and a half drive from the hotel to the church...maybe it's the heavy downpour or quezon city's crazy traffic jam or perhaps it's just, well, that darn far...whichever it is, it ain't something i will recommend.

hey, kix tavora photography's got a new name, resonance, check it out. i'm telling you, we've been in a lot of weddings together and still i see my main man getting better.

it's the 88's all 'cause of you. very nice song, my kinda music. it was a last minute change. on the contrary to what you might think, last minute changes make everything better.

what else, what else, hmmmm...pardon me, i can't say a lot of stuff today, i'm in a hurry. i have a game to catch and the ball has just been tipped. it's ateneo-lasalle one last time this season for a slot in the uaap finals. go green...

still she caught me by surprise when she graced the pages of FHM's september issue. i knew she's a model but seriously, FHM. nope, michelle madrigal ain't married yet, and i ain't talking 'bout her...but it would've been way lot cooler if i was, you think? nah! turn your copies to page ninety and bam, there she is, the perfect wife herself, paloma.
wow! she just blows you away. one day, she walks into your office, the next she's on fhm. and i'd be damned if she ain't got my ticket to the next fhm party. :)

westgrove heights is one fine place to live in. the air is fresh, the grass is green, the sky is oh so blue. finally, i found a place away from the busy city life...i almost forgot that ayala's new 400 hectare subdivision was my office that sunday afternoon. (i would've said just part of the 400 hectare village but dave kinda drove into every street trying to figure out where the central park is located.)

it's our second time working with jayson arquiza of redefine weddings and it kinda makes it even harder to use our glidecam with him constantly teasing us how new and scratchless it is.:) luckily, dave voluntarily carried ebeth for a couple of minutes or so just to see its effect...and it is oh so smooth. (thanks to my sis for the neat gift...hmmm, fisheye and wide lenses and my birhtday and christmas...i'm just saying.)

their avp and onsite videos are coming soon. for the meantime, here's dave and ebeth's "save the date" video. just want to show you how cool the place is for a prenuptial shoot :)...and when i told you the sky was blue and the grass was green, it was an understatement.

i felt a gut wrenching pain. like i was kicked in the nuts, watching the smuggled ferrari getting crushed on television. damnit! now i'm depressed. one thing left to do...a tribute to all the innocent cars bulldozed for no reason.

i just got an invitation for a birthday party, in mint condition, held seventeen years ago. i was blown away. if there was a contest for best mom, lenny, bea's mom, will win second place. next to my mom of course, but it would've been a very close call.

i wasn't there the first time but bea's 18th birthday bash is what i can only describe as "abso-bloody-lutely awe-sum!"

ok, this one's different. this is the reason there were no posts from the crazy month of june.

first week, nothing much except for a couple of prenuptial shoot. i also got my very first credit card. (crazy, i don't remember applying for one) since i never had one, what the heck i tried it out (got my second bill this month and it turned out that i have tried it out too many times). damn those stupid convenient plastic substitute for instant cash, you ain't gonna feel it's killing you 'til the bill arrives.

second week, thursday night. i was packing my bags when i received a phone call booking us for a wedding sunday afternoon at the mango farm in antipolo (first time there, thumbs up). problem was i was packing my bag for a wedding saturday afternoon in oriental mindoro (yup, another beach wedding baby!). but what the heck, we just have to wake up at four travel four hours back to manila, enough time to clean ourselves up, and go straight to the next event (exactly what happened).

a week after that, three thirty in the morning, chester, kix, edward and john (kix's assistant, he's "big time" now) were sleeping comfortably on their respective car seats on our way to bataan. the week after, we were back in manila shooting another wedding. how about that huh? (pretty exhausting telling the story)

anyway, here's a 1 minute trailer of our june weddings. i advise you to grab some popcorn for this one. :)

inspired by the motion picture, which was amazing by the way, and the television series of the same title, which totally kicks ass and a must see, "friday night lights." we have to buy ourselves the appropriate footwear for the shoot but trust me you don't wanna hear about it. i had some technical problems uploading this one, but no excuses, i apologize for the delay. here's the avp...and...uhm...extraordinary, that's the word.

WONDERFUL WORLD - 7.14.7 -- when asked if she was ok with non-traditional shots, claire simply answered "nakita mo ba yung gown ko?" the bride promises that the color has nothing to do with her being a lasallian. and the designer...dong himself.

also, i'm hoping that it was a temporary thing, the stairway leading to the balcony of the malate church is closed due to an unfortunate event. i thought some couple might want to know.

now, this one, i like. my new favorite. thing is, i almost have nothing to do with it. since the prenuptial shoot, it was all chester. that cute little wave, i don't know how he came up with it, gorgeous. it was our first time at the dam and frankly i'm not a very big fan of the holding hands, pre-nup kissing-kissing stuff, and i know a lot of our clients are not into cheesy stuff, but this one, lo and behold, justice has been served.

i didn't have a hard time tweaking the colors, as i have said, chester has made an excellent job putting everything together. even the little poem at the beginning, nice. my contribution was...i can't even remember...ah, i was the one who pressed the 'play' button during the reception. now it's your turn to press it 'coz i really want you to see this.

when it pours, it's a little bit tougher making an onsite in the middle of a garden wedding. yeah, but when you hear the applause and you close your eyes and you truly listen, you forget that you're soaking wet, and the video, after all, turned out to be good.

i've always been amazed by fast-paced editing. i request, heck, i beg couples to give me at least two upbeat songs for their final video. i have watched dozens and dozens of wedding videos from everyone in the business and still, the ones that leave me in awe are those that rocks. you know what i mean --- rocksteddy's superhero, eraserheads/orange and lemons huwag kang matakot, and...and, this one i'm itching to do in an onsite video...barbie almabis' dahilan.

ironically, with all the introduction about opm rock n' roll , this latest video's doesn't have electric guitars, nothing even close, but it is overflowing with emotions...and frankly, i love it.

ah, brides these days, they'll bring out the best in you. during our first meeting, paloma wanted to see samples of our avps. so i showed her the one with the cartoon and she went "that's the one i want, do the exact same thing to my avp..." no problems there, until i showed her the other one...

so she got herself a korina sanchez impersonator, hired a suite at astoria plaza, wore her humongous diamond engagement ring...and then we shot the interview. darn, i hate it when it sounds like everything was that easy.

people were asking when is the next video coming out. i could've posted a couple of highlights last april but you know, there was the holy week and i went out of town and, uhm... female network. i got hooked reading the celebrity gabfest section, a lot of interesting stuff.

she's rock n' roll. i mean, who else would've wanted bittersweet symphony for her onsite? i love the studeybaker shot at the end, kinda like a mafia movie. and the wedding itself, kinda like a mafia movie wedding. and by the way, those are diamond earrings on allan kinda like a real mafioso. was that redundant?

it was very long day.(by the way, we consumed 7 mini dv tapes that day) i'm just glad i was home in time to see wendy of pinoy big brother get booted out. yeah baby, life is good.

now peejay here never shies away from the camera. either she's getting her hair done or waiting for her dad for a portrait pictorial, even during the solemn ceremony, she's busy giving the, you know, "peace" sign. and jon...well jon, i just have to check him out twice...what?...he's really cute. seriously though, this video could've been a lot better if i was able to download peejay's version of the song...yeah, she knows i'm kidding.

it was a very hot day, and it ain't just the couple...and the onsite...it was...uhm...chester and i in our really awesome brown polo barongs too. gotcha there, huh?

escorted by paranaque's biker's club association, in full black leather jackets, black boots, black ray ban shades and colorful bandanas riding their vintage harleys is quite impressive, i should say. in addition to that, at exactly two minutes and thirty five seconds, bespren tikboy, anjo yllana, will make a cameo appearance. and the kiss, don't get me started with the kiss. now i am telling you, this is the kiss that will revolutionize the nation, if not the whole world. see, i wrote kiss a total of four times, that's how good it is.

i tried mixing the infamous old school "push transition" with a little bit of playback's new school super video effect that we call "camera shake." hope this one will satisfy your appetite for playback videos, then again, it's "the cure" baby, what's not to like?

we've watched this video a dozen times and it still cracks us up. check out this one of a kind love story. believe what you want, and we're sorry karen, but we like decs' story better. check the angles, check the inserts, listen to the music from the 80s. sometimes the simpler the avp, the harder it rocks!!!

february 14, 2007 got a lot of stories to tell but everything just skips my head right this very moment...the amazing sky, the white sand, the bubbly groom and his gorgeous bride...our first beach wedding!

it was one hell of a ride going there and back but damnit we had a blast. so good we still have hangovers...and it ain't because of the mindoro sling!

except for the coin bearer who was crying because his mom was forcing him to walk down the aisle, everybody else was in tears because of the moving ceremony. oh, in case you're wondering, it's a christian wedding so it's alright for the couple to see each other before the ceremony...the song is courtesy of mrs. pacua who requested it for her final dvd. never heard of it before. first time i played it, loved it. so good, i just have to use it here...

it was a ten a.m. mass and it was held at tagaytay. so travel time plus prep time equals zero sleep. never really knew what to expect but when i got there, it was a pleasant surprise. imagine that, a military wedding...with swords and the navy and...uhm, rifles and battle ships and jet fighters...interesting, huh? :)

january 27, 2007 the bride requested for g-race's version of 'til there was you.' haven't heard that version before but when i did, i thought it was kinda short...

...then a couple of days before the wedding, with evil thoughts, and since they never really gave us a hard time when they signed us up, i decided to give this couple a little sumtin' sumtin...you know, an extra minute...

let me tell you a little secret --- in a split second, i almost thought i couldn't pull it off...here's the video.

by the way, the bride requested that we include clips of the reception being set up, the traffic on the way to the church and the pictorial of the entourage at the hotel. we gladly obliged.

oh, and for the record, this is our third onsite. more to come, we guarantee you that.

new year, new style...and a new video. it's been a while. i was busy trying to top the last one that i actually forgot to post a new video. nah, got some corporate videos to work on the past few weeks. i missed the wedding videos terribly.

anyway, to start the year, here's a video from a december wedding held at the archbishop's palace. hah, how about that? great place you got there, monsignor. never, until that day, have we seen a groom with his own make-up artist...
